Sunscreen to Air Freshener in 9 Easy Steps

Sunscreen to Air Freshener in 9 Easy Steps
Flashback to 2012: It was the best of times, it was the sunscreeny-est of times.
Do you love the smell of car air fresheners, but hate to spend the money on them? Do you ever think: these are nice, but how can I turn them into a sticky mess. Well, have a I got an idea for you.
1) Go to the store and purchase a can of spray on sunscreen.
2) Place that can in your two year old’s grubby little hands (I gave to a daughter, but i think that a son will work as well).
3) Make sure to look at the can and take false security in the plastic wrap that envelopes the can.
4) Start driving to daycare.
5) Within 20 seconds Waa-laah!
6) Your child will have sprayed the sunscreen all over the car and be crying about it.
7) Once you arrive at daycare you will see that your daughter’s underpants are damp.
8) Spend a few moments playing: is that piss or is that sunscreen? Ignore the creeped out glances. It will be sunscreen (this time.)
9) Drop off kids and proceed to work in your very own “Banana Boat.”
Chin up- you can’t cry long in the “Banana Boat.” No, really you shouldn’t. For safety purposes. The fumes etc.

Watch Yourself Martha (but not really)

Watch Yourself Martha (but not really)

I crafted today. Well, ok that’s probably overstating. I bought things and arranged it. You see the picture. I hit this out of the park. I mean for my first try. I saw the jar gift ideas on Pinterest and I loved them to bits, so I decided that was the thing I needed to do for my daughter’s preschool teachers.

Before you go much further- small note. If you stumbled on this after searching for craft kind of things- this is my only crafty post, so I’m sorry. Please still stay and read about other things- like the time I tried to do my hair, or the time I worked out.

Ok that’s out of the way- now onward to toot my own horn and give a run down of what’s in the jar in case you can use the info for a favorite teacher.

jar gift
I assembled these… that’s crafting right?

Things in jar-

-straw(because it’s a water bottle/jar)

-magnets

-hi-lighters

-pens

– post-it notes

-flowers (because daughter really wanted them to have flowers and I can’t tell her no all the time)

– a little thing for the garden (a bird in one and a sign that says “Forever a Free Spirit” in the other)

-a small picture frame (that’s on the front)

-last, but not least that clear things that is wrapped around the handle- it’s a thing to keep wine cold (or pop, but really wine) after putting it in the freezer. It was supposed to fit inside, but did not.

All this for only $500… I’m joshing. I think it was about $25 to $30 each. If you weren’t doing it last minute (if you aren’t, please come organize my life) and went for things on sale, you could do it much cheaper and much better.  I’m still proud.

Also I wanted to add there is so much pressure now. I don’t know how Martha Stewart does it. I feel like I have to go make pies or … Or trade inside… I don’t know… all I’m saying is I have a completely new understanding of what she has been through. All judgment is gone, Martha. *fist bump
